The Law Office of Charles R. Gueli has a proven record of achieving outstanding results for our clients in personal injury cases. Because of our strong reputation within the legal community, a significant number of our cases are referred by other lawyers.

Many of our referrals are received from lawyers who do not handle personal injury or contingent fee cases. We also receive referrals from other personal injury law firms that do not have the time, expertise or capital resources to properly pursue particular cases. We have an experienced and dedicated staff that works to uncover every resource available to bring our cases to the absolute best conclusions.

CO-COUNSEL AND REFERRAL FEES

Our office can help you generate a source of income with no overhead. We will split fees with lawyers in accordance with The Rules of Professional Conduct of the New York State Bar. The Rules prohibit fees being shared with non-lawyers.

The rules also allow us to co-counsel a case with other lawyers and pay appropriate referral fees to those lawyers. The client's prior consent is required. We will work with you every step of the way to ensure a fair, full and complete understanding and outcome is achieved.

We regularly seek out qualified lawyers in other states for our out-of-New York cases. Local lawyers on our out-of-state cases provide our clients with expertise of the local environment, local contacts and reduced travel costs.

The amount of the referral fee will be pre-determined on a case-by-case basis. Some of the factors in determining an appropriate fee-sharing percentage are:

the type of case

the risk level

the anticipated costs

the desired level of involvement of the referring attorney

and the stage of the litigation.
